About the Author
Both a UK and US Citizen, Lawrence has lived in the Huntsville/Madison area for over 20 years. With over 2 decades of IT experience under his belt, including 7 years working in the IT Training field as a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Lawrence heads up one of the busiest IT consulting companies in northern Alabama servicing over 400 businesses in the Aerospace Defense, Healthcare, Legal, Automotive, Service and Manufacturing sectors. With a strong focus on Cybersecurity, Lawrence serves both as a security consultant and analyst, and as a hands-on systems engineer, he supports critical business systems and infrastructures for numerous organizations. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Chief Information Security Officer, a Senior Member of the Information Systems Security Association at the national level, and has served on the Board of Directors of the North Alabama chapter of ISSA. In addition to his leadership role in ISSA, Lawrence is a member of over 25 cybersecurity groups, IT groups and professional associations including the FBI’s InfraGard Chapter in Huntsville, the National Security Agency Information Assurance Group, ICTTF – the International Cyber Threat Task Force and the Central Intelligence Agency open-source intelligence group. He has also participated in Huntsville’s Cybersecurity initiative. In his capacity as a Forensic Analyst for the last 10 years, Lawrence is routinely sought after within the legal community as a subject-matter expert in computer forensics and has been called upon as an expert witness in several court cases. As a business leader and an IT cybersecurity consultant, his unique blend of skills helps him provide business owners with sage advice on critical topics such as information and system security, disaster recovery & business continuity planning, risk management, compliance, vulnerability assessments and information assurance. In his private life, he is married to a law enforcement officer.
