Yesterday, we received an alert from MDA that the NAICS Code 541712 was no longer valid. The U.S. Census Bureau published the NAICS Code 5 year update and this one directly affected us! Since that was the case, we wanted to make sure you were aware in the case that it affects you as well.
As you probably are already aware, the 541712 NAICS Code is a classification for government contractors who perform work that falls under Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology), which is our primary NAICS Code. The NAICS Code that should be used instead (effective January 1, 2017) is 541715 unless the requirement is dealing with nanotechnology. In that case, the NAICS Code 541713 should be used.
